Fall Baseball



The East Texas Sidewinders are looking for 7&8 year olds and 9&10 year old boys to play fall baseball. Games are in Terrell on Saturdays but practice will in the Cedar Creek Lake area. Signups for the Tri County Soccer Associations 2008 fall season

begin on Aug. 2, the group

announced this week.

Candi Conner said coaches are needed and those interested should call her at 903-887-3138.

Games will be played on Saturdays with the possibility of some weeknights when necessary.

Sign up fee is $60 for all players, and you must be four years old prior to 8/01/ 08 to be eligible.

The fee covers the cost of the standard association uniform and co-insurance.

Photocopies of birth certificates must be turned in for new players, and any returnees that are still outstanding.

Practices begin in September with games to begin by 9/13/08.

Practices are usually two nights a week, determined by each coach and team.



Volleyball camp

Who: High School players only who wish to improve their skills.

Where: Eustace Junior High Gym

When: July 28 through August 1.

Time: 8 a.m. to noon daily.

Cost: $25 per person.

Coaches:

Summer Davis:

former Eustace High School player who went on to play for Navarro and Texas A&I and is now coaching in the Richardson school system;

Alyson Harlan: Texas Womens University player.

Brandi Powers:

Local club coach with international playing experience.

Athletes may sign up Monday at the Eustace Junior High Gym



TVCC forming softball program

Trinity Valley Community College is forming its first

first conference softball program, and is looking for players and coaches.

The college holds 16 national championship titles in football, cheerleading and women’s basketball.

The area TVCC serves is home to numerous successful high school softball programs, the release says.

The Lady Cardinals will play beginning this fall at Cain Park.

The 85-acre Cain Park contains tennis courts, fishing ponds and a walking-jogging trail along with several softball fields.
