Eustace hurdler qaulifies for State

COMMERCE — Eustace hurdler Cameron Coffey qualified for the state track meet in Austin last weekend with a second-place finish in regional competition.

He just missed qualifying for state in the 300 intermediate hurdles with a third-place finish.

Coffey had personal best times in both events.

The Bulldogs scored 24 points at Regionals, which also is a school record.

Though not qualifying for state (a top two finish is required), several Bulldogs had good outings at regional competition.

Johnny Lee finished third in the 3,200 run in a record time of 9:587.

Zach Bennett was 10th in that event with a 10:36 clocking, and Zach Gonzales was 17th with a time of 10:51.

Johnny Lee was also fourth in the 1,600 meter run with a time of 4:35.

Zach Keeling finished 9th in the high jump and Cody Lowe was 11th in the discus throw;

Zach Arambula took 12th in the 1,600 meter run. Eddie Gonzales was 16th in the same event.

The 1600 Meter Relay, consisting of Caleb Bailey, Zach Keeling, Trevan Johnson and Cameron Coffey, finished seventh.
