— VELMA DURAN, 87, of Eustace, was born Dec. 1, 1939 in Tyler to Roy Lawrence and Ruth Smith and passed away at ETMC in Athens on Aug. 31, 2007.
Mrs. Duran was a member of the Church of Christ. She never met a stranger. She was always friendly to everyone. She was married Sept. 9, 1996 to Johnny Bailey in Eustace.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Joe Duran and brother, Floyd Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Bailey and sisters, Patsy Osborne, Laura Neely and Edna Latson.
Services were held Sept. 2 at Eustace Church of Christ with Rev. Don Bentley officiating. Burial followed at Morehead-Melton Cemetery in Eustace under the direction of Gordon-Foster-Brown Funeral Home.
Pallbearers were James Morton, Jim Bailey, Wade Morton, Jeff Bramblet, Tad Morton and Corey Perkins.
