Tool voters will go to the polls on Saturday, May 10, to elect three council members each for a term of two years, plus a new mayor to fill the vacancy created by Mayor Scott Confer’s recent resignation.. The tearm ends in May, 2009. Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. that day at the Oran White Civic Center (next door to Tool City Hall. Candidates who’ve signed up so far to fill the former mayor’s seat are J. “Mike” Black and Tamara J. Brickey.
City council members seeks two-year terms include incumbent A. J. "Red" Phillips, Nelson Wright, incumbent Fran Sonka, Tracy C. Bush, Jr., Bruce "Doc" Thurston and Monty H. Pennell.
The above list of candidates is not the order they will appear on the ballot but the order in which they filed as candidates.
